Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem transmisi pada mesin grain dryer serbaguna tipe rotary kapasitas 50 kg untuk mendukung proses pengeringan biji-bijian secara efektif dan merata. Sistem transmisi dirancang untuk menyalurkan daya dari motor penggerak menuju tabung rotary sehingga menghasilkan putaran sesuai kebutuhan pengeringan. Metode penelitian meliputi studi literatur, perancangan sistem transmisi, pemilihan komponen, perhitungan teknis, pembuatan, dan pengujian kinerja alat. Komponen utama terdiri atas motor bensin, pulley, v-belt, sprocket, rantai, poros, dan bearing. Hasil perancangan menggunakan motor bensin 6,5 HP dengan putaran 3600 rpm, panjang v-belt 1160,01 mm, putaran pulley 4.934 rpm, serta gearbox 1:20 yang menghasilkan putaran tabung 60 rpm untuk mnggerakan poros tabung rotary. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan sistem transmisi bekerja stabil sehingga proses pengeringan berlangsung lebih merata dan efisien. Sistem yang dikembangkan mampu mendukung kinerja mesin pengering dalam pengoperasian secara kontinu dan optimal setiap waktu.
