Abstract
Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pengolahan umbi talas di Desa Sepawon, Kabupaten Kediri. Salah satu solusinya adalah dengan merancang mesin perajang keripik talas semi otomatis berkapasitas 1 kg/menit. Mesin ini difokuskan pada sistem penggerak yang mampu menyalurkan daya secara efisien dari motor listrik ke pisau pemotong. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini meliputi: Bagaimana merancang sistem penggerak yang sesuai untuk mesin perajang talas. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa sistem penggerak dengan motor listrik 1 HP, puli 203,3 mm dan 25,5 mm, 304,8 mm, 25,5 mm serta V-belt tipe A34 dan A40 mampu menurunkan putaran motor listrik dari 1400 rpm menjadi 14,63 rpm. Torsi yang dihasilkan sebesar 3 Nm dan daya potong pisau sebesar 0,3 kW.
