Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari permasalahan yang umumnya dialami oleh sebagian besar orang yaitu lupa menyalakan atau mematikan lampu dan peralatan listrik lainnya saat tidak digunakan yang dapat menyebabkan pemborosan energi listrik dan beresiko kebakaran akibat overheating dan arus hubung singkat. Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana merancang sistem smart home berbasis mikrokontroler arduino uno?. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) yaitu pengumpulan informasi, perencanaan, mengembangkan perangkat, pengujian lapangan awal, perbaikan perangkat, pengujian lapangan utama, perbaikan operasional, proses pengujian lapangan, perbaikan perangkat akhir, proses penyampaian inovasi dan implementasi. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah smart home berbasis arduino uno dapat bekerja dengan baik dengan penambahan komponen ESP8266 nodeMCU sebagai transmitter dan receiver sinyal wifi supaya dapat dikendalikan secara jarak jauh menggunakan smartphone.
