Abstract

The design of the dynotest based on moment of inertia was motivated by problems with students of Mechanical Engineering at Nusantara PGRI Kediri University when they were doing practical machine fundamental phenomena, where the dynotest tool had not previously used a momentinertia based dynotest system and was integrated with a computer, so that students had difficulty understanding the moment of inertia phenomena in the scope of mechanical engineering technology. The purpose of designing a moment-inertia-based dynotest is of course to overcome the student's problems so as to create a moment-inertia-based dynotest design. The result of the design of the tool is the creation of a moment-inertial-based dynotest that has dimensions of LxWxH=150x100x100 using a straight iron raw material as its main frame. The tool uses a moment of inertia system located on the rollers. The roller is driven by a 110 cc Yamaha Mio J petrol motor with a maximum Rpm of 10,000 which can be adjusted using the gas grip on the steering handlebar to determine the engine rpm. The tool is also equipped with an ARM cortex microcontroller which consists of several sensor sets, namely the magnetic encoder sensor on the magnetic fan of the Yamaha Mio J engine which functions to measure the rpm of the drive motor and the sensor on the inertial roller shaft.
