Abstract

The present research is aimed at describing and analyzing errors on making simple sentences, compound and complex sentences found in the thesis of students of Sastra Bahasa and non-language departments at the University of Nusantara PGRI Kediri. The finding of the research shows that: (1) errors on making simple sentences take place in terms of the absence of subject, the uses of double subjects and predicates, the uses of subjects preceded by a preposition, and the uses of superfluous words; (2) errors on making compound sentences are the uses of unparallel sentences, incomplete sentences, sentences with inappropriate words, and sentences with superfluous words; (3) errors on making complex sentences are uses of unparallel sentences, infused sentences, sentences with double predicates, sentences with superfluous words, illogical sentences, sentences with complicated ideas, and sentences with misspelled words.
