Abstract

Sampah menjadi masalah aktual yang dihadapi Indonesia seiiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah penduduk. Kertas merupakan salah satu limbah yang paling banyak dihasilkan. Indonesia menghasilkan 66 juta ton sampah pada tahun 2016, 64 juta ton sampah pada tahun 2018 dan 67,8 juta ton sampah pada tahun 2020. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui berapa prosentase pengurangan sampah di Indonesia jika mengolah sampah ketas menjadi bahan baku industri kertas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, yaitu dengan melakukan sampel dan populasi pada saat penelitian, kemudian hasilnya dianalisa dengan metode deskriptif. Dari perhitungan yang telah dilakukan dengan melakukan pengolahan sampah kertas di Indonesia menjadi bahan baku industri kertas di PT BUANA MEGAH PAPER MILLS bisa mengurangi volume sampah di Indonesia sebesar 0,33% di tahun 2016, 0,34% di tahun 2018 dan 0,32% di tahun 2020.
