Abstract

Limbah daun dan bonggol nanas berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pakan ternak, namun pemanfaatannya masih terkendala ukuran cacahan yang tidak seragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan menganalisis kinerja pisau pada mesin chopper berkapasitas 5 kg/5 menit. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan menggunakan SolidWorks, simulasi pembebanan, pembuatan komponen, dan pengujian hasil cacahan. Pisau pemotong menggunakan empat mata pisau berbahan High Speed Steel (HSS), sedangkan pisau penghancur menggunakan sembilan mata pisau berbahan Stainless Steel. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan tegangan maksimum pisau pemotong sebesar 1,81 MPa dengan faktor keamanan 293 dan displacement 0,0008099 mm. Pisau penghancur memiliki tegangan maksimum 13,68 MPa, faktor keamanan 12,6, dan displacement 0,002667 mm. Pengujian menunjukkan cacahan lebih seragam dan sesuai untuk proses pelletizing pakan ternak. Desain pisau dinyatakan aman dan layak digunakan.
