Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the optimization of beginner guitar learning through the drill method and describe the impact of the drill method in improving the skills of kindergarten teachers on basic theoretical material and practice of playing beginner guitar. The subjects of this study were 26 kindergarten teachers of IGTKI-PGRI Kediri Regency as 26 District representatives. This study uses the design of the PTK model Kurt Lewin (Wijaya K. and Dedi D., 2012: 20). It is said that this research is successful if it is able to make transfers between keys and is able to play the rhythm patterns shown through the minimum criteria of 75%. Data collection techniques in PTK are observations and instruments used in the assessment of this learning process include 2 (two) aspects of skills, including: displacement between keys (left hand fingers) and rhythm patterns (right hand fingers). Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be seen that there was an increase in completeness of key transfer learning by 3 people (11.5%) in the first cycle, as many as 16 people (61.5%) in the second cycle, and the percentage of mastery learning reached 80.8 % in cycle III. And the rhythm pattern of 5 people (19.2%) in the first cycle and the percentage of mastery learning reached 77% in the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that through the application of the use of drill methods in beginner guitar learning in the IGTKI-PGRI ensemble group in Kediri Regency in 2017, the hypothesis of action in this study can be accepted.
